STAAR Initiative

Accessibility is a leading value at Carolina Sexual Wellness Center, and one of our mission goals is to make sex and gender therapy available to as many people as possible.  Through our Sex Therapy At Affordable Rates (STAAR) Initiative, clients can get the services that they need from well-supervised and trained clinical interns at a low cost of $30 for initial intake session and $20 for subsequent sessions. 

We consider the STAAR Initiative a win-win-win!  Here’s how it’s beneficial to all parties involved:

• Clients are able to have access to needed services and can address the issues that are affecting their lives. 
• Clinical Interns are able to pursue their passions and can gain valuable and unique experience and training in the sex and gender therapy niches.
• CSWC is able to fulfill its mission goal of providing services to clients who may not otherwise be able to access them while also training the next generation of sex and gender therapists and supervisors.

Anyone who wants to access services through the STAAR Initiative can do so! It can be especially advantageous for those who don’t have health insurance or who can’t afford their copays or deductibles.
