Claire Bigham
Clinical Intern
(she/they)
As one of CSWC’s clinical interns, Claire Bigham offers accessible and high quality sex therapy services through our STAAR Initiative. Claire is working toward her Master’s of Social Work from the University of Michigan, and is gaining valuable clinical experience at CSWC while she provides services to clients who may have difficulty having financial access to sex therapy services.
Prior to joining CSWC, Claire earned a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Community Services with a concentration in Family Science from East Carolina University and is certified in Wellness Recovery Action Planning. She has a long standing interest in sex education and was part of a pilot program in high school which allowed her to facilitate sex education classes for her peers.
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Claire has a deep appreciation for the services CSWC provides by connecting to and empowering those who belong to sexual and gender minorities and those suffering from sexual shame and guilt. She is particularly passionate about ensuring that sex therapy and education is available to all regardless of their economic status, making her a great fit for CSWC’s STAAR Initiative.
Claire has a background working in mental health crisis management, peer support, and early childhood education and intervention as well as working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and is excited about adding sex and relational therapy services to the list.
