Samone Moore

Clinical Intern
(she/her)

Samone is one of CSWC’s clinical interns who offers accessible and high quality sex therapy services through our STAAR Initiative. As she is pursuing her Master’s degree in Social Work at North Carolina Central University, CSWC is providing Samone with the opportunity to gain valuable clinical experience while helping clients access low cost sex therapy services. Before starting her master’s, Samone received her Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Studies with a concentration in addictions from Winston-Salem State University.

With her background in social work, Samone is deeply passionate about advocacy and social justice, particularly in the areas of reproductive rights and sexual health. She is dedicated to challenging stigma around sex and sexual health and incorporates a sex-positive approach into her work with clients.

Samone believes that clients are the experts in their own lives and experiences and that her role is to help guide and support them. She strives to provide a safe, collaborative, and non-judgemental space for them to express their concerns and desires openly and honestly.

Samone has clinical experience working with a diverse array of clients dealing with substance use and mental health concerns in a variety of settings to include shelters, inpatient hospitals, and community substance use/justice involved facilities. She is excited about adding the experience of outpatient sex and relational therapy services to the list.

“I believe everyone should be able to have safe, consensual and pleasurable experiences with sex, whatever that looks like to them, whether by themselves or with a partner or partners.”
